Ms. Katie's Preschool!
Welcome to our class blog! I will be updating this blog every Monday with new ideas of things you can try at home to help reinforce what we are learning at school. I'll post things we are working on at school as well as other ideas I've found or tried in my classroom in the past with lots of success. Hope it helps! Let me know if you are looking for specific skills and I can add more info in that area.

Listening Skills
Listening is a skill all preschool age students need to practice. This site has some great games that you can use to practice listening skills with your child.
Listening Activities
Shapes with Blocks
Practice shapes with some masking tape or blue painters tape on tile in your house or outside on the pavement. Grab some blocks or legos and have your child practice building shapes using the tape lines. This is great for practicing shapes as well as building both fine motor and gross motor skills.

Ripping paper is an important skill for bilateral hand strengthening(using two hands) and a skill used in many school projects. Take advantage of the extra supplies lying around and give your child a chance to go at it and try their hand at ripping paper.
